We will have two live performances including Jan Seiden and the Baxter Duo.
Jan Seiden, a 2-time nominee for the Indian Summer Music Awards, will be playing at our Fundraiser event! Immediately captivating, Jan’s soulful eloquence and exceptional technique transport listeners to a healing, inner tranquil state. Ms. Seiden’s music carries messages of global unity, peace and personal empowerment to federal agencies and to international humanitarian conferences and indigenous gatherings throughout the U.S. and Canada. Baxter Duo – David and Sarah Baxter met teaching music lessons in the Boston area. They discovered their affinity for each other in 1996 playing duets for seemingly unlikely combinations like violin and trumpet, and viola and flugelhorn. David and Sarah continue to revel in making music together, melding many styles to create expressive music that is at turns energizing and comforting. They especially enjoy performing Sarah’s compositions.
The event is held in celebration of International Temples Day, which is celebrated by Kadampa Buddhists worldwide. The International Temples Project is what has made the KMC Maryland Temple & Gardens for World Peace possible. Currently, they are helping new temple project in the Southwest and other parts of the US and the world. Learn more about this special day and the International Temple’s Project (ITP).
