Our cafe is closed to the public on Labor Day Weekend due to a special weekend retreat happening at the temple (Eight Steps to Happiness weekend retreat).

Join us for a relaxing evening that includes an uplifting meditation, time for questions, and a delicious home-cooked vegetarian meal.  Treat yourself to a refreshing evening in the company of like-minded people.  Bring a friend!

Friday June 10th @7-9:30pm.  We'll be serving a 3-course Sri Lankan dinner!

Begins with a Talk & Meditation at 7pm

Enjoy a meaningful and festive New Years Eve meditation and party in joyful community!  The evening begins with a short talk with guided meditation entitled “Living with Joy,” where we can listen to Buddhist wisdom on living life with a positive outlook and peace of mind.  Then we’ll have a party with delicious vegetarian hor d’voures and non-alcoholic drinks in our World Peace Cafe!

The evening ends with 30 minutes of chanted prayers and song where we request Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion, to help us create peace in our hearts and in the world. Join us in ending one year and starting a new one with joy and meaning.

Suggested donation $10-$15.

Note: The Baltimore Marathon will be taking place the same day, Saturday, Oct. 17th. Folks traveling from the south of Baltimore will be particularly impacted.  We suggest rather than coming to the event through town, to use I-895 (the Harbor Tunnel) and take the Moravia Road exit and then drive west to the Temple.  Please consult Google Maps or a GPS for specific directions from the Moravia Rd. exit. Those coming from the north, west, and east should be fine as long as they stay north of 33rd St.
